TRIPURA, ASSAM, MEGHALAYA, NAGALAND
Northeast India is the easternmost region of India representing both a geographic and political administrative division of the country. It comprises the eight states Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura out of which we visited four states with our students of 5th semester. (Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura) Every place we travelled to had a story of its own, be it the culture or the architecture.
With the enthusiasm of a traveller and passion for architecture our students explored every place that we visited with utmost interest and dedication. Talking about architecture, North East India has beautiful blend of buildings and nature. Mesmerizing the nature, studying the vernacular architecture and the traditional houses among the tribal population and understanding the settlements, various building materials and techniques turned out to be a perfect way to explore/ learn architecture through travel.
